TIPS FOR REPLACING SHOCK ABSORBERS

 

Whenever you change the factory ride height, you must replace your shock absorbers with the proper length.  If you do not, the shock will bottom or top-out, resulting  in a rough ride, blowing your seals, or breaking off the ends. 

 

When you measure,  set vehicle at ride height, then measure  the height of the shock from loop to loop, or stem, etc.  You must now add a minimum of 2” up/down travel to your static (still) measurement.

If you measured 12”, then your shock must  be 10” closed, and 14” open

If your factory shocks runs thru the middle ofyour coilspring, then you MUST install a shock relocater kit.

 

You can also use a “Poorman’s  Shock Extender kit, which are available for both front and rear shocks
